NVM Week 5 Training - Pebble Beach Edition

One of the many benefits of my job - besides the fabu wine is that I get to attend meetings around the state in some pretty fantastic locations. One of those locations is the golfers paradise that is Pebble Beach.  We got there last Saturday and I never wanted to leave.  Although I am just a novice golfer,  I still appreciate why people travel from around the world to experience Pebble.  The fact that I am extremely lucky spoiled rotten to have been here four times in the past year is not lost on me.  On the way there we stopped to rehydrate and do a little cuddling at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Calera - Possibly the best Pinot I've had in CA

On Monday while everyone else was golfing, I got in a 10 mile run along 17 mile drive.  I averaged right around 9 min miles and felt great for the entire run.  It might have been the views:

Ghost Tree

Seal Rock

Heaven
Tuesday was a rest day and Wednesday morning I busted out 400's on the treadmill which were tough.  I averaged 2 min per 400 x 10 but I was pouring sweat and breathing pretty heavy.  Total of 5.5 miles including warm up/cooldown.

View from the Treadmill!
Thursday I was back in SF and got in a late night 4.5 mile tempo run and a quick 15 min weight session.  Yesterday/Friday was my company party and dinner with friends so I "rested" and currently I am sitting on my couch blogging and on-line x-mas shopping* while delaying my inevitable 13 mile long run today to round out the week with a total of 33 miles.  Guess I better get to it.

*So far I've made an order to refill my Nuun stash and I am debating whether to pull the trigger on the new turquoise/pink Brooks Launch.  Tis the season after all.
