Couch Party & Top 5

I had three great workouts this weekend: 8 mile run, 20 mile ride and 10 mile run followed by some much deserved wine tasting in Sonoma.  All in all a pretty damn good weekend.  So to celebrate my accomplishments I spent the last two nights sitting on the couch eating Cookie Butter out of the jar, pretzel thins, homemade Panang curry (I at least cooked a little but didn't do the dishes),  mini-chocolate chips and popcorn with truffle oil.  Yes I did this for two straight nights while watching  A LOT of television.

Does anything make you feel worse then stuffing your face while watching Biggest Loser while your skipping a workout?  I don't think so!  I can blame it on needing the rest or working really hard during the day.  Honestly I was just having those "fat days" where anything other than wearing sweats, catching up on DVR and eating my weight in sodium sounds like too much effort.  Good news is I snapped out of it late last night and feel much better this morning.  My gut and my husband are both very thankful for that.  To make myself feel better I am pulling a daily double tonight at the gym to get back on track.

In other news, here is a list of the top 5 things I can't get enough of right now....

1.  Jennifer Lawrence:

Like I said, I just can't get enough of her! I want to hang out and be BFF's. She somehow always looks classy in a super sexy way - her stylist should be given major props.   I loved Winters Bone, Silver Linings Playbook and sheepishly Hunger Games and even though she's had the best year ever and is only 22; I think she's around for the long haul and not in the trashy Lohan way:)

2.  Yurbuds

These little guys are a game changer.  I have major ear issues.  Mine are very small and they stick straight out (I blame my heavy hair).  I have never been able to find a bluetooth (for the car only, I promise) or headphones that will stay in.  For years I just didn't run with music because if I got even a little sweaty then my headphones would slip out of my ears which led to almost eating it on the treadmill multiple times.  I bought these Yurbuds last summer as a last ditch effort to run with music.  I now use them everyday to listen to the Dan Patrick Show (I am a sports nerd) on my way to work and during every run.  They lock into place, have never once slipped, are very durable and they are super easy to clean and care for.  I just use them with the headphones they came with but they can be used on most ear-buds I believe.  They have tons of cute colors and different styles.  I got pink (obviously not my first choice) because that's all they had at the store but I may have to buy the green at some point.  At the time I thought $30 was a lot but now I'd pay twice that!

3.  Pro Compression Sleeves

I am huge fan of compression but have mostly been a socks person (PC, Sugoi, CEP) up until recently.  I bought these sleeves on a whim because they were on major sale and I thought I'd try them out.  I never really understood why people wore them instead of the socks.  Well I now get it and I am a convert.  They are awesome because I can wear them to work (under my dress pants), still wear heels and my co-workers are none the wiser.  This was always an issue with the socks.  You can't wear them on a weekday unless you can wear jeans and sneakers to work, in which case I hate you!  I also have been wearing them to run in and you can wear them with capris without looking like a total fool (again not the case with the socks).  Another major benefit is post-race when you want a fresh pair of compression and you want to wear flip-flops.  I still wear compression socks to sleep in after a long run, if I am running in shorts or if it's the weekend and I can hide them under my jeans but otherwise the calf sleeves are the way to go.  I've only tried Pro Compression as far as brands go so I have nothing to compare to but they seem to work great and they always have awesome sales to make them more affordable.

4.  10 Barrel Brewing

It's no secret that I love all things Bend, OR andall things beer-related so this was an obvious relationship.  All I can say is if you like good micro-brews, do yourself a favor and go get a 10 Barrel Brewing Apocalypse IPA.  Do not pass go, do not collect $200...just do it!  You can thank me later.  These guys know how to make some seriously good brew and their Bend Pub is awesome - complete with fire-pits.  Rumor has it, they just opened a Boise Pub as well.  If you're visiting Bend, make this your first stop.  I will be spending multiple hours there next weekend when I am in town.  Deschutes has always been my one true brewery love but these guys are getting dangerously close to knocking them off the pedestal!  It's that good.

5.  Nuun Lemon Tea

Again I've always been a huge fan of Nuun and use it daily. Before a hard workout, during a workout and recovering from a workout.  It also helps me to rehydrate when I overdo my love for other liquids (see # 4).  I've always been a Lemon-Lime and Strawberry Lemonade girl because it's what I first started using and why mess with a good thing.  Also I don't like overly sweet anything so things like Tri-Berry, Fruit Punch and Tropical just sound like they would turn my stomach.  And Banana - kill me now!  At Surf City I got talked into trying Lemon Tea and I'll be...I loved it!  I never tried it because I am not an Iced Tea person but this is not too sweet and not too tart.  It's just right.  It knocked Lemon-Lime right out of the park and is now with me all the time.  I guess maybe I should be a little more open to trying new things/flavors.
