Zooma Napa Valley Runner Report: Tiffany from Texas

The ZOOMA Napa Valley Ambassadors are excited to bring you our Zooma Napa Valley Runner Report Series. Each week we’ll be featuring a ZOOMA Napa Valley half marathon or 10K runner on each of our blogs. As women runners, we want to use our role as Ambassadors to highlight and share the stories behind the incredible women preparing to run ZOOMA in June. Each runner has a special and unique story, and we invite you to learn about our runners through this series. Please feel free to click through the links at the end of each post to read about additional ZOOMA racers.

For my first report I have the honor of spotlighting Tiffany who is coming all the way from Texas to race the 10K with her girlfriends.

Name: Tiffany Dewald

Age: 45

Current City: Copperas Cove, Texas

Race (10K or half marathon): 10K

Why are you running ZOOMA Napa Valley? I love Napa and have friends who live there. I will be running with great gal friends!

When & why did you start running? My oldest brother convinced me to run in High School. I realized at that young age how it made me feel free and relaxed.

How many races have you done & which was your favorite? I have ran in over a dozen races. One of my favorites was the Diva Dash.

If you could pick one celebrity to run with, who would it be & why? I would run with Robin Roberts. She has fought so hard to beat cancer. She is a big advocate of health and is always trying to educate others.

What is your favorite running memory? Running in the Komen Central Texas with my aunt who has breast cancer.

What is your one running must-have? Besides my running buddy, Janet, it would be a great pair of running socks.

What is your favorite post-run indulgence? A hamburger and a cold beer is something I always crave after a race.

Who is your running inspiration? I think of my dad, who struggles with heart disease, throughout every race I run.

What is the most important lesson you have learned from running? One lesson is how important a supporting friend is. They can get you thru anything, especially a tough race. I have also learned how to let go of stress during a run.

Tiffany - Good luck on the race and I look forward to meeting you in Napa.
